Early Years Programme

We are delighted to launch our new Early Years Programme for pre-school children and their families!

Through funding from Cattanach, we are delivering a range of pre-school, Early Years support for children and families across Perth & Kinross.

Over 2022, we have undertaken a consultation with families in partnership with the Early Years Inclusion Team, Perth & Kinross Council to understand what families of pre-school children are looking for with support.

The ideas from families were varied and we have based the rollout of our programme on the most popular feedback.

Through our funding, we will be developing the programme over the next three years – so keep an eye on our social media and on this webpage for updates!

We know it is unlikely many of our pre-school children will have received a formal diagnosis or maybe in the formal assessment process, we are therefore welcoming all Early Years families to join us if their children have any significant language/communication differences or potential neurodiversity.

What will we be offering?

Following feedback from families, in the first year of our three year programme development, we will be offering:

  • Weekly Stay, Play and Connect sessions for families
  • Monthly Parents Peer Connect sessions
  • Learning Programmes for parents/carers

Stay, Play and Connect

These sessions will be held weekly every Tuesday morning 9.30am – 11.00am, the next block starts on Tuesday 18th April up to and including Tuesday 20th June 2023.

The sessions are a chance for families to connect and children to play together!

There will be a range of play options available that have been designed specifically by our team and we will have our experienced practitioners on hand to help think of play ideas with parents, support creating resources  – basically anything that will help make play fun and allow parents to support their children to develop communication skills!

All the dates for the sessions running from January to April are below!

No need to book, just come along and if you feel anxious about coming in for the first time, you are welcome to bring support with you, or contact us and you can meet with someone from Perth Autism Support before you attend.

You can also download our information pack by clicking the button below that will let you know what to expect!

You can call us on 01738 451081, email families@perthautismsupport.org.uk or use the contact form below.

Parents Peer Connect

These sessions will be held monthly and are for parents and carers to chat, share ideas and get support, advice and information from our Early Years Project team.

Parents will have the opportunity to design your own sessions, if you just want a chat and socialise – that’s fine, need help with a particular situation – that’s fine, want some input from other agencies on any topic – let us know and we will organise that – this is your time for you!

Sessions will alternate between day and evening and online and face to face to allow as many parents the opportunity to connect together.

All the dates for the sessions running from January to April are below, and confirmation of the online dates will be coming soon!

No need to book for the face to face sessions, just come along and if you feel anxious about coming in for the first time, you are welcome to bring support with you, or contact us and you can meet with someone from Perth Autism Support before you attend.

If you would like to join the online sessions, let us know and we will email you the link.

We host our online sessions on Zoom, if you would like help to get online via Zoom, again, we are happy to help!

You can call us on 01738 451081, email families@perthautismsupport.org.uk or use the contact form below.
