The Employability Journey – Looking for a job and not sure what to do?

Here at PAS, we deliver a ‘Get Ready to Work’ programme which will give you an introduction to the world of work by supporting you to identify skills, create a CV, job search, prepare for an interview and take part in a mock interview.

We even simulate what it would be like to work and make up a contract, just like when you get a job, you will get a contract from your employer and will have to sign it.

In this programme, a Career’s Advisor from Skills Development Scotland will come along to our sessions and help you discover what makes you tick, what you’re good at and about your personality, through a “what animal are you” quiz. This will help you to find out what career’s you would be good at and what skills you have already to get you there!

When you have finished the programme, you also get the opportunity to gain work experience. This experience will look great on your CV and you could even ask the Employer to be your referee.

We work closely with Employers and Developing Young Workforce Perth and Kinross for the work experience. We provide ‘Understanding Autism’ training to Employers and Perth Autism Support staff will support you in the work experience too, if required.

If all of this wasn’t enough to get you excited about engaging with our employability programme, by attending you could even gain an SQA Employability Award which is a recognised qualification with Employers. This will be a great addition to your CV and helps to widen your employment opportunities!
