Service User Focus Groups

At Perth Autism Support we are keen to take on the views and ideas of families to help us further develop services in 2014/15, with this in mind we will be running two focus groups this year to help develop any ideas parents and children may have and to gain valuable evaluation on our current services.

We will be running both a Parent’s Focus Group and a Young Person’s Focus Group (this will be for children of Secondary School age initially), for one hour each in February, May and September.

For the parents group we are looking at working with 2 parents from each of the age categories we work with, Early Years, Primary and Secondary, the 6 parents would have to be able to commit one hour of time in February, May and September. For the Young Person’s Focus Group we will again be looking for 6 secondary school aged pupils who would like to put their views across about our service.

The dates and times for the groups will be as follows:

Wednesday 26th February 6.00-7.00pm (Parents)
Thursday 27th February 6.00-7.00pm (Young People)

Wednesday 14th May 6.00-7.00pm (Parents)
Thursday 15th May 6.00-7.00pm (Young People)

Wednesday 17th September 6.00-7.00pm (Parents)
Thursday 18th May 6.00-7.00pm (Young People)

This is a real opportunity for you to let us know how you would like to see Perth Autism Support grow over the next year, and also to help us change anything we might not be getting right!  The discussions and ideas from the Focus Groups will be fed directly back to the Board of Trustees to help shape our services.

The focus groups will be run by Angie Ferguson, Project Manager and Jena Hughes, Activities Co-ordinator with Donna Officer, Secretary of the Board of Trustees attending the parents group and Debbie Corbett, Chairman of the Board of Trustees attending the Young Person's group.

If this is something you would like to join, or you think your secondary school age child would like to be involved with please let us know as soon as possible as there are only 6 places on each group, we envisage they will fill quite quickly, we will be looking for new parents and young people every year so if you don't get a place this time there will be further opportunities and we will let all registered families know the outcomes of the meetings for comment.
